Rent Non-Equity Tour

I know people on here said that they saw it and love it, but can you tell that it's non-equity. Are things that are used in the Broadway show, used in the tour? thanks

TALLIA BRINSON 2004-2005 Mimi, was definately one of the best if not the best I have seen in years. With a knockout body, and chocolate skin and a voice that rocked, was sultry, riffs that were impecable (close to Saycon in WICKED) that could make any dude wanna drop trow, strap on a raincoat and get to business.

Hehe....

I'm sure this year's tour with thoroughly be fun and ready to spread some love nationwide as the movie did much justice to a long awaited cause. "MEASURE IN LOVE"

Sorry if this is a stupid question. What does non-equity tour mean? I've heard in an interview someone say that those casts members are not treated as well as others. Does that just mean they get paid less? Again....sorry if this is really obvious

It means that the actors are not members of the Actors Equity union.

There are only the standard changes in the show which are not even a result of being Eq vs non Eq..

Instead of the door being on the stage left side of the stair it's under them on stage right.

Instead of attaching the posters to the set a cast member tosses them up in the air at the top of the show.

On broadway Marks says "you can take the girl out of Hicksville but you can't take the Hickesville out of the girl" he says Jersey in place of Hicksville on the tour.

Also on broadway Mark says "showed them how to find the circle line" on the tour he says Statue of Liberty.

Other than that the show has always been kept the same.

This particular tour for specific reasons marks mom and alexi have swapped their ensemble blocking. Basically whenever the actress who plays marks mom is not doing one of the voicemails as said character she's doing the blocking that would normally be done by the person playing alexi and vice versa.
