When I saw Rent a few months ago I saw Joshua Kobak as Roger, but when my friend saw it tonight she said that someone named Colin was the understudy for Roger. Did Joshua Kobak leave the show? Thanks!

Josh has been off and on for a while, he is coming back at the beginning of August to help cover Cary's vacation.

I have one more question: Does Collin's character always wear glasses because I've never seen any pictures of Jesse L. Martin with glasses.

Ah, I see now... he just happened to be out on both nights (night I saw it, night my friend saw it) and he's going on vacation in the future. I thought he had been on his vacation this whole time...

Did karmine leave the show? Tonight I had a slip for Krystal L. Washington as Mimi, which announced she would be mimi tonight welcomed her back, but didn't state that she was an undersutdy or anything...And I saw the show tonight (wed. jul 20th) and Cary shields was rodger...unless I'm insane...

Looks like Cary will be on vacation the first week of August. The performance schedule for Roger will be:
8/1 Mon: Joshua Kobak
8/2 Tue: Joshua
8/3 Wed mat: Joshua
8/3 Wed eve: Jay Wilkison
8/4 Thu: Jay
8/5 Fri: Jay
8/6 Sat mat: Jay
8/6 Sat eve: Joshua

Wax Lion would like to tell lifesofar that, yes, Collins has always worn glasses. Some scenes more than others, granted. The same goes for Joanne.

Yeah, she was the Mimi in the tour I saw a few years ago. But maybe all of the u/s were out...so not sure

I think my friend said she saw a guy named Colin as Roger, and on ibdb there is a Colin Hanlon who is the understudy for Roger. I'll have to ask her next time I talk to her to check her Playbill.

cary was in it on monday, but not last night. as well as krystal for karmine. matt caplan was out and jay took his spot. the whole entire performance i kept thinking of how jay would make a better roger than mark and i would like to see him play roger. i personally love colin when he u/s for mark. i believe karmine is still in it and renewed her contract.. i know her cd is FINALLY coming out next month so maybe she's been doing stuff with it? i really have no idea. but i know she wasn't in it on monday and yesterday (a friend told me)..

I think Caren's taking a vacation from the show and she usually went on when Karmine was out. So maybe Krystal's helping out? Krystal is a great Mimi tho.
