Rent-Wicked Correlation
Rent-Wicked Correlation#0
Posted: 4/9/06 at 1:25pmHi all, I have to write a 7 page research paper for my "History of the Broadway Musical" class correlating two shows I have seen this semester. I am doing Rent and Wicked (I know, I know. I wanted to do shows that weren't so...hyped...but I dont have a choice). I was thinking of doing the whole outsiders-being integrated into mainstream society (or the fact that they DONT become integrated into mainstream society). Any other ideas for me? Or any ideas where I can research online? Thanks.

Posted: 4/9/06 at 4:13pmI think especially in terms of your class, while some of it can be dedicated to correlations among the story, I think the bigger, more important correlations can be drawn from outside the story. The style of singing/the score, the new audience both have drawn and trends they have started, etc.

Posted: 4/9/06 at 4:18pmI agree. I would write about how both drew younger audiences into the theater community and changed the "modern" show.

re: Rent-Wicked Correlation#5
Posted: 4/9/06 at 7:05pmI would also bring up how they are adapted from source material that was not as mainstream as the shows have become.
