Rent filming back in New York?

I am under the impression from what I have recently read that Rent filming is taking place in NYC again. Would anyone happen to know where to look for them this week? I will be in the city Saturday and would love to watch some filming. I am really sorry if this has been asked again, I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks!

The only time they shot in New York was for a bit less than two weeks in March. They're not scheduled to come back to the city at all; filming in San Francisco is supposed to be done in a few days, I believe.

You see, that is exactly what I thought but I just read this over on livejournal:

So i was walking down 23rd street (in Manhattan) on my way to an audition and i have a big chocolate ice cream cone in hand, ice cream all over my face...and around the corner comes...IDINA MENZEL!

And I was a bit confused and thought maybe they had come back...I honestly have no idea though.

Did you check the date of the article? Maybe it was from when they were actually filming in New York.

I started another thread this morning here on BBW about Rosario Dawson being interviewed in SF this morning....so they are still in SF as of today.

She wrote it today and I was just under the impression that it happened recently because that was the way she made it seem. And then someone else also posted this:

i went to the city last week and saw them filming part of the movie but i couldn't stay long

I don't know how many people refer to SF as "the city", I suppose I am just used to it being used in refrence to Manhattan.

That could just as easily be SF. They're definitely not filming in NYC anymore.

Is SF filming really set to end in a few days? Because according to Anthony's most recent post on the RENT page, it sounded like their was still tons of stuff to be shot. I was under the impression that filming was slated to go well into June in SF, plus the 2 weeks in LA before principal shooting officially wrapped.

I was confused about the blogs, because it seems like that might be a bit delayed or something. I don't really know. I could swear something I saw said they finish filming in SF 5/25.

I'm inclined to think that that was a mistake of some sort, or an early estimate because Anthony said in his post that they had many more songs that they hadn't even begun to film. I don't think it's possible that they'd be finished in SF by the 25th but that's just my opinion. Who knows, maybe they film alot faster then I am imagining.

I'm from the Bay Area and we definitely call San Fran "the city". It isn't like the New York City kind of city, but it is the only true city we have and saying "the city" is much easier than saying "San Francisco". Anyways, I'm almost positive that they aren't going back to NY again. I believe they leave for L.A. in a day or two and they they are going to Santa Fe.

Hey guys - Anthony just sent me a PM asking me to share the following:

I just wanted to get the word out that they've been holding onto my blogs for the official site for some time now, so they won't be exactly current. Hence the confusion about what we're shooting when.

He says they do finish in SF next Wednesday, then they're going to LA for a bit, and then Adam and a few others are off to Santa Fe.

My friend just came back from LA where she took a tour of one of the studios. She saw them spray painting a NY set that the tour said they were preparing for Rent, so, yeah, they're not coming back, they're faking it.

Well yeah that would explain it. Thanks Emcee (And Anthony!). I wonder if they're doing an exteriors in LA that let the public come watch like in NYC? God I hope so as I live in LA. :-P Hey normally I'm not into set-stalking as some call it, but I think with the RENT movie, I should make an exception to go down and try to take a peak. :-P If anyone has any info on LA filming, please let me know!

That is actually my friend's blog message. That happened yesterday in New York. They aren't filming here again but there must be another reason she is here.
