i know there are threads on the trailer, but i'm trying to take a slightly different approach...
so, for all of us that have been die-hard RENT fans for years, this upcoming movie is going to be simply amazing. for those of you who have seen the trailer - which single clip of a scene has the biggest effect on you?
the whole trailer blew me away, but the first time i saw it, i started crying as soon as the lights came up in that straight line while they were singing "seasons of love". that has always been my favorite part of the musical, and when i saw that many members of the OBC there together again, i totally lost it.

definitely the without you part, when they're in the alley and adam/rosario are kneeling in the rain.
also, when they place roses on the coffin and the group walks out of the cemetery.
look again because i don't think that's adam and rosario kneeling in the rain. it's adam and the actress who plays "april". they're shooting up in an alleyway.

The second "How about love," when the firework-y things shoot out. I get chills.
That part where Adam has that look of total agony on his face, throwing Rosario out. On so many levels.
However, the very first image of Adam was where I started to cry the first time I watched the trailer. There are a lot of clips that give me chills in the trailer, though.

Great thread! Parts that hit me:
In the cemetary during the funeral
When Adam throws Rosario out of his apartment and he is yelling at her or something (I think that's what's happening)
when they show adam with his arms outstretched on the roof and it fades out to: " Revolution Studios presents"....
I hope that's Glory.
I think it is part of "Glory". i remember reading they shot part of that on a roof.
i just have to admit that i just watched it again, for the millionth time, and i had chills. i swear, i tear up a little everytime!
second part that "got me": Rosario, arms over her head with garter belt, multi-colored bra and pink panties "doing her thing"....she looks so H-O-T!!!

I bet everyone who's writing on this thing either has or is about to go watch the Rent trailer again. I know I am!

yeah...the Adam on the roof bit is in my top 5. There are, I think, 156 different scenes in that 2 minute trailer, so I feel it fair I have a top 5.
But Angel and the wig is still tops.
The roses on the coffin choke me up every time.
and, the Mark and Roger hugging (the slasher in me jumps for joy)
Lastly, (cause I can't choose just one) Collins and Angel dancing makes me smile.
and BEKA531: I think it's Roger and April in the alley, presumably after getting their test results. If you look closely, his hair is short like in the beginning with April and her hair is too short to be Mimi.
EDIT: After posting I went back and re-watched the trailer. The scene of Roger on the roof singing "One Song Glory" hits me pretty hard too.

From the part when the firecraker flies in the air....... to the end.
I still get chills to this day....
The Trailer was well thought out to evoke such strong emotions in most of us.
she really does!! and yeah, i just watched that adam moment on the roof, and i think i do recall reading that "glory" was filmed on the roof.
i don't know how i'm going to handle myself at this movie when it comes out. i think all of we need a bww screening for all of us who live in the ny area, cause i know it won't be the same unless i see it with people who can appreciate how amazing it is that this movie is actually here

Kate -- ditto. How about a screening a day in advance for just us fans? Or a midnight showing (someone elsewhere mentioned a sing-along which was poopoo-ed...but I think it would happen naturally in our own showing, no?) I think we could make the case that other "normal" patrons will have a better movie-going experience without us bouncing up and down, falling out of our chairs, and mooing. Then again, we'd go see it the next day anyway. People are going to be very afraid. Which is fine by me, really.
Yeah, Marquise. A roof in Union Square. But What You Own was also on a rooftop, so... could be either, I guess.
I want to watch it again, because I haven't since the Access Hollywood premiere, but I don't want to cry.
oh, you will...i have it downloaded on my computer, and i cry everytime!
it just makes me more and more impatient!

For some reason, every time there's that shot of Adam writing on the bus, I start to tear up. Not like it's particularly poignant - just because it's finally happening! And then at the end when the spotlights dim and "Rent" fades in over the figures.

lets see after just watching it again...the light my candle scenes, Anthony and the camera, the roses on the coffin, Jesse's solo, Adam sitting at the window
Need to watch again...
When I saw Taye clapping along to "Seasons of Love", I was just taken aback. I was thinking, "Wow, that was so cool. And emotional."
I dunno. Call me weird, but that was your question, was it not?
^ Really? I thought it was a little silly.
For me, the part that hit the hardest was when Jesse hits that note...aaaah tear-inducing perfection in a note..."the way that she dieeeeeeeeeeed" and angel and waaah

I have another one (I knew this would happen). Seasons of love with the spots on each actor. Not quite sure why. Maybve because that's a favourite part of the stage show...
