Harvey is a terrible suggestion, Corine. TERRIBLE. Yes, he wrote it, yes, he does drag. But at the end of Act One, if that show is going to work, you need a big voice for "I Am What I Am" for the audience to sympathize with Albin and for the show's emotional quotient to kick in. Harvey wouldn't cut it for that crucial moment.

I am thrilled at this news. Although I first heard these rumblings a few months ago, I can finally leap with excitement at the official news.

Gary will simply be amazing in the role and I second the thrill of seeing him in the starring role he so richly deserves. There are moments when performer and role are just meant to be - and I think the casting is inspired, to say the least.
