Hey everybody:

I am currently trying to gather information about a Broadway/off-Broadway/TV and film actor by the name of Jonathan Moore. His most well known roles were Dr. Lyman Hall in 1776 (both stage and screen), and Baron von Swieten in Amadeus. He passed away in 2008.

My research is genealogical. Basically I am trying to find out more about who he was before he became an actor. I have found various information about him online and I believe I have researched all I can on my own. I am now putting out feelers for information, such as the contact name of his previous agent.

He was born John Miller Moore Jr. in New Orleans, in 1923.

Any information or suggestions of whom I could contact next would be very helpful and appreciated. I believe Mr. Moore had a daughter who is also a Broadway actress but I have not been able to confirm this. Actors' Equity was a dead end.

I remember his performance in 1776; even in a small role, he stood out---I also think he understudied the role of Adams in the original cast. You might try and contact some of the other actors who he worked with in 1776---they may have had conversations with him in which he discussed his past.
