Not for school purposes, since I'm not in school but I'm wanting to peek a little more into a couple favorite shows. Does anyone know of a site or item of research where I can find information about the different adaptations... (or just about the show itself and characters) of Cabaret and Threepenny Opera?

I mean a real in-depth look. Not just stuff like Broadway : The American Musical and such.

For example, I want to know more about the different adaptations of Threepenny, and more about the characters of Cabaret and their characterizations.

Sounds weird but I really can't give a reasonable description of what I'm trying to do.

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

I would say Google is your best bet to find out about different productions.

The Willet translation of 3PO contains a whole bunch of 3PO info, but that's more show specific than production specific.

I've actually found some interesting stuff on Wikipedia, but it's not a good source across the board. Depending on which shows you're looking for, it might not help so much.

Well both show specific and production specific would be good.

You should read books written by or about the creative team of the specific show. I know a lot of books on Kander & Ebb (specifically the magnificent interview-style book "Colored Lights") and Hal Prince have a lot of good information on the creation of Cabaret and what they intended to do with the show.
