Roxane was Velma during Michele Pawk's run as Mama -- Rox didn't miss a show.... You sure you didn't see Rox?

Wow, CJR what a highly descriptive review, now THAT's the stuff I wanna read! Passionate reviews about theatre!!

Woo-yeah! lol I was in rare form the day I wrote that. But I try to make my reviews as unbiased as possible. Of course that didn't happen with this one, but it's all good because Rox and Trace were the only reason I went! lol

Roxane Carrasco -- one of THE single most underappreciated talents on Broadway today (of course I'm biased). For more info -- www.roxanecarrasco.com
Angie wasn't sick -- she can't hack singing 8 shows a week. Doesn't matter now as Tuesday was Camille Saviola's opening night as Mama. Belle Calaway went on in the role of Mama all weekend; and it was Angie's closing weekend to boot. It's all good though, I'd rather see Belle as Mama over Angie anyday.
I can't wait to see Camille -- I got a sneek peak and she's gonna be fierce!

CJR, there really isn't any reason to take a positive comment about anyone else and turn it into a negative one about your favorite performer, now is there?

I don't even understand what your post is getting at.... Um. I wasn't being negative about anyone, let alone my favorite performers... I was just stating the obvious that Angie couldn't cut it -- hence the fact that she was out so often towards the end of her run.

sorry, CJR it was a post of yours a while ago, where you wrote:
I saw Sandy Duncan... I think it's insulting to Tracy to compare the two.
No insult was made or even implied to Tracy when I praised Sandy Duncan. If you prefer Tracy, that's your right. But kindly don't suggest I insulted her in any way. My post made it clear that the qualities your excellent review found in Tracy are what I valued in Sandy's performance. This board may have become too focused on making a hierarchy of performance which I don't find particularly helpful, and my post about Sandy didn't evoke. Thanks.

My comment was based on the fact that you are the only person I have ever heard to find Sandy Duncan as Roxie to have many of the wonderful qualities which Tracy (and other Roxies I have seen) posess. From my standpoint, biased to Tracy or not, it's insulting to her to say that the two are remotely similar. I would have said the same if it had been Belle Calaway, Bianca Marroquin, or Charlotte d'Amboise I was speaking of, rather than Tracy. Each Roxie I listed there have performances far superior to Sandy Duncan and I thank god I only wittnessed her Roxie once...

well, that's what they say about opinions...they're like a-holes...we all have one, and everyone thinks everyone's else stinks while theirs smell like a rose. I allow you your opinion and I'd appreciate a little respect for mine.

Oh don't start the same "everyone's entitled to have an opinion" game that's going on at the musicals.net board.
The same way you're entitled to have you're opinion, I am more than within my right to respectfully disagree with it. Have at your opinion. I just happen to disagree. Opinions aren't wrong.
You know I liked it a lot better when you thought I was someone else and not speaking to me.

Respectfully, saying I insulted your cherished Tracy is not respecting my opinion. It is simply misunderstanding a very clearly and respectfully worded post and subsequent explanation. If you're determined to be offended, you can always find a way to be. That doesn't make me a bad person or disrespectful. *smiley face icon*
And now I'M confused as to your reference. I never thought you were anyone beyond a poster with the initials CJR. I have addressed things to you in this thread and also in King Stevos is Hot thread. I've never ignored you. But I'm certainly ready to move on from this tedious topic of Sandy "versus" Tracy. And for the record, I've never been to "musicals.net". *big smiley face with an animated wink*

First things first -- you're not following me. I didn't mean you insulted Trace intentionally. You stated your opinion, I stated mine, that is that.
As for (to quote you) my "cherished Tracy"... well Trace is my friend and I am very quick to defend my friends (though that was not the case here)... just as anyone here would with any of their friends -- performer, civilian, famous and otherwise.
And now *IM* confused, because in the chatroom I was being harrassed and then ignored.. and then bitched at, by someone with your user name. If that's not you, then maybe Rob might want to consider removing the option to be in the chatroom under another name :)

a user named MMS or Mamma Mia Sammy has been known to be in the chat room using handles similar to mine and to "jrb_actor"'s. He has sent me some sorta harrassing messages in there "posing" as "jrb_actor". Look at the nicks carefully in there and compare the tone to what posts are like in the discussion board in order to use your best judgement. I actaully haven't chatted in about 10 days or so.

Ahhhh Okay. That's who I thought it was if it wasn't you. I apologize for the mix up :)

I know many people who didn't like Tracy's interpretation as Roxie including myself. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, I do agree with you that it is time for Angie Stone to leave the Ambassador.

Actually, liking or disliking Tracy was never the issue. Nor was who is right or wrong -- nobody here (myself and TxTwoStep included) ever said anyone wasn't entitled to their opinion or to disagree on said opinions.
Angie's run is over. Camille began Tuesday and she's fierce as all hell.
