Review of POTO soundtrack promo at London's Dress Circle Store.

Here is a quick review posted on teh PhantomFansNet messageboard by someone who attended part of the Dress Circle Stores POTO film soundtrack CD promotion: (Many thanks to Black Rose of her remarks! And, I wasn't surprised at all by her comments about Patrick Wilson!)

She added some other comments about Gerard Butler:

"He's NOTHING LIKE Harley!
.....I really don't know how to describe him, because he's not like any other Phantom I've heard.

He has a deep voice. He's not a screaming CAT like Harley. Surely THIS makes you feel better?

And yes, it's a powerful voice. It's how he USES it that's different. It's hard to explain!

And yes, he certainly has left his own mark on the role.

I believe some will love him, some grow to love him, and those who don't like anyone but MC will HATE him because they are SO VERY different.
Basically, the worst thing you could do is listen to the CD expecting to hear a stage-type Phantom. Gerry has sealed his own interpritation and if you don't listen with an open mind you won't like him. At first I wasn't sure...I didn't hate him...I didn't instantly like him...I didn't know what to think. But in the end I went away feeling that he'd done something different, and I'd liked it as it went on. I'm pleased with him, so far!"

Thanks Sally! Black Rose did an excellent job of describing what she heard at the promo.

I can't wait for the CD release on Nov 23rd!
