I was recently on a school trip to NYc where we saw three shows-The drowsy chaperone, Company, and A Moon for the Misbegotten.

A Moon for the Misbegotten was still in previews when I sawe it. It stars with Colm meany, Eve best and Kevin Sapcey. Eve best was pure genius in the role of Josie as was Menaey. Kevin as great as i l0ove him seemed a bit too contemporary in his role through gestures and movement. The set was a pure delight to take in and the music and lighting was alright. The lighting seemed odd at times. I did get to get a picture with Mr. spacey and he signed my playbill lol.

the Drowsy Chaerone-well certaintly VERY different to the average musicla. It seemed to make fun of itslef which excused the corniness. I must say taht the character of the chaperone played by beth leavel was my favorite character. Ms. Levae is amazing in everything she does. I also got a pic with her and she signed my playbill. She is a truly humble nice perosn. Ms Foster was great as usual but there was some low energy.....the new man in the chair was fun natural charismatic and true to Mr,. Martins orignal creation(I go to meet both and took pics...real nice guys). And of course Adolpho was a riot(and when I met him he is a real knockout =)

Company was the most controversial for me. The way they changed the orchestration so the cas memebrs play the score all throughout using instruments was innovative but it bothered me bcus it hindered them in numbers like "You could Drive a person crazy". Akll the comic physicality was lost bcus of the huge clumsy trombones they were playing!!! raul was great and when we talked to the cast after the show I found out Mr. ESparza wen to Belen!! A school right next to mine. Some of the actors were less talented drmatically bcus they neede to be more musiclaly inclined than usual so this took away from characterization(esp the butterfly monologue which i love but was cut to bits).

Whose seen either of the three shows and would like to comment on them?

Thank you for the reviews, but if you turn this in for a grade, make sure you use Spell Check.

I'd also recommend that you rent the Broadway Archives production of Moon with Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst, to see how that play should be performed. I directed A Moon for the Misbegotten and it was a life-changing experience. Eugene O'Neill is the greatest playwright of American Theatre because he affects you in ways you can't imagine.

I was in what I thought was the worst production of Company ever, until I saw a community theatre completely destroy it later on. It's a terrific musical, but I've seen four productions and it's on my, I never need to see this again list.

So pleased that you enjoyed NYC. Good luck to you.

I saw Drowsy last July with most of the oringal cast. I just loved it! I am a huge fan of Sutton, though, so naturally I thought she did amazing. But if you just saw the show recently, she could just be getting tired, plus she's leaving the show in about a week and a half.

But I loved this show, this is my favorite Broadway musical right now. I think it's so funny, and touching and heart- warming. I just love it!

I'm glad you got to see this show. It's just amazing!
