Well, I'm back at home in Ohio for the time being so my trek to NYC and Washington and Broadway has ended. Here's a compilation of my reviews of the shows I saw the past two weeks.
LEGALLY BLONDE
"Baily Hanks took the stage. And now the sugar-coated show that was beginning to crash faster than a four-year old on Halloween has found a yummy, chewy chocolate center in the middle of its Tootsie Pop."

THE LITTLE MERMAID
"“The Little Mermaid” is a beautifully done mix of classic melodies and new tunes, sung to perfection in an enjoyable and smart interpretation of the Disney masterpiece that is currently showing at the Lunt-Fontanne theater.
If you keep your eyes shut."

MARY POPPINS
"The Banks house in Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s theatrical version of “Mary Poppins” is a wonder to behold. Designed by Bob Crowley, when the three-story structure is revealed to the audience there is a gasp of delight from both parents and children alike. If only the happenings that occur within the Banks household were nearly as memorable as that house."

SHREK
"“Shrek the Musical” has the makings of being a good, solid production that turns into a profitable Broadway run. There are several problems, both major and minor, that need to be addressed, specifically the snooze-worthy beginning, for the show to flourish as it has the potential to, but the creative team and cast show a lot of possibility for excellence here. Just don’t expect a masterpiece—life isn’t always a fairy tale, after all."

SPRING AWAKENING
"To make a very bad pun, “Spring Awakening” still hasn’t fallen asleep over at the Eugene O’Neill Theater. The creators have chosen wisely in the new cast, and if you loved the show when you first saw it, you’ll still love it when you see it again, despite subtle differences in characterization and execution."

A TALE OF TWO CITIES
"Broadway's interpretation of the novel, which began previews last night at the Al Hirschfield Theater, is also epic in all the right ways. It's a gigantic, sprawling, lush and, yes, literate production of the masterpiece. "

XANADU
"“Xanadu” is still, and will continue to be once Hoffman returns, one of the best current tickets on Broadway. In it’s own little way, it’s a perfect show that proves once and again that a show can be smart, witty fun without sacrificing endearing characters or dumbing down its humor. Here’s hoping the spotlight Goldberg brought to the production sticks around after her upcoming exit, because the show deserves it."
