I'm listening to AccuBroadway, and saw the listing for the revivals channel.
"Shows so excellent they got a second (or even third) life!"
Other than Fiddler, which shows have been revived more than once? Maybe I'm having a brain cramp, because I cant think of any right now lol

Show Boat was revived four different times. It first played in 1929.
It was revived in:
1932
1947
1983
1994

I think we have a couple of the dates for SHOW BOAT productions a little off.
The first production was in 1927.
The 1940s revival was in 1946.
But, good detective work in tracking down ALL four major revivals! :)
For anyone interested in learning more about SHOW BOAT, I heavily endorse the Book SHOW BOAT: THE STORY OF A CLASSIC AMERICAN MUSICAL, by theater historian Miles Krueger.

I was looking at the closing dates. Show Boat did run in those years. The last revival opened in 1994.

Posted: 10/24/04 at 12:28amI think Hair counts cause it was revived 2 years after its inital run, then there was the benefit concert a little more than a month ago, so if you counted encores, that would be 4!
