I'm really enjoying the New Faces recordings and love things like Parade, Pin and Needles, and Mad Show. I have Shoestring 57 and Make Mine Manhattan and Other Revues on the way.
Anything I'm missing from 50's and 60's revue era?
Carol Channing's SHOWGIRL.
LA PLUME DE LA TANTE
Have you got Bagley's THE LITTLEST REVUE with Joel Grey and Tammy Grimes?
Some of the Julius Monk revues from the Upstairs at the Downstairs were recorded...PIECES OF EIGHT has Estelle Parsons and Jane Connell in the cast. I think DEMI-DOZEN had an album.
And from London a different version of PIECES OF EIGHT, ONE OVER THE EIGHT and SHARE MY LETTUCE, all starring Kenneth Williams, have cast albums as does THE LORD CHAMBERLAIN REGRETS.
My favorite is THE DECLINE AND FALL OF THE ENTIRE WORLD AS SEEN THROUGH THE EYES OF COLE PORTER.

I love the theatrical revue format, like New Faces or Two On The Aisle. I doubt that the form could be revived on Broadway anytime soon - it just doesn't seem to be what the crowds want to watch (like the old variety show format, which I also love). But I would love to see some good new revues.

Many of the above mentioned revues played in small clubs, much like Forbidden Broadway. Some had late night shows, where folks would go AFTER seeing a Broadway show.
