Richard Kind to replace Jbara in DRS

i was reading in broadway.com's lucy arnaz interview that richard kind shall be her new andre. I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere before but do all you guys think?

yeah, I wasn't really expecting Richard Kind to perform the role next but like someone said, I'm sure he'll do fine and present the role in his own way

Richard's a nice guy and has always loved Broadway and Broadway musicals in particular. I'm glad he's been working up a storm on the Great White Way.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR HIM TO TAKE OVER FOR GREG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can picture him as Andre and I`ve always wanted to meet him! I`m sure he`s going to do great! Picture him singing "Like Zis Like Zat"!

I love Richard Kind and I think that if he does the intelligent thing (which I'm sure he will) he will not attempt to play the character the same way Greg does. If he does, Andre will be the chimp in a suit.

I think he could be very funny playing Andre his own way - UNTIL I think of him doing "Like Zis/Like Zat". Just the thought makes my ears bleed. I'm afraid I'm going to have to miss this new cast and just take the wonderful memories of the current cast with me.

Can't see him as Andre, but he's a very funny guy so he may turn out to be pretty damn god.

He's actually closer to the movie Andre than Jbara - but I agree that his "Like Zis Like Zat" requires a stretch of the imagination.

He's already spending time there because he made a Greg Cam appearance a week or two ago ... I guess I'll just wait and see how it goes. I like to think they would stick with someone who is going to do a good job since there are so many people to choose from! :)

I don't think I reeally see it, but he is a very funny guy. Carradine seems a bit of an odd choice too. Dunno. I haven't seen DRS in a while, so I think I'll have to make a repeat visit sometime in the fall to see this replacement cast. It should be interesting!

I had a chance to chat with Jeff McCarthy last week for a little while after "Mame". I couldn't help thinking what a great Lawrence he would have been. I think they missed the boat with Carradine.

I think Richard Kind will make a fine Andre. Like some of you have already pointed out, he will surely bring his own style and take on the character. I can also picture Lucie Arnaz and Kind working as well together as she and Greg do (or so I keep hearing; haven't personally seen the show since its Broadway opening).

I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Kind at the DRS after party on opening night last year. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy, and I think it goes without saying that he's very talented.

My opinion is that as the wonderful Greg Jbara departs the role, it's being placed in some very capable hands.

I met him twice at the Producers stage door last summer and he was as sweet as could be. Posed for a photograph and even took the time to ask where I was from and make polite conversation.

I think he will make as fine an Andre as he did Max Bialystock. I was skeptical at first but he brought a breath of fresh air to the role and didn't try to be Nathan or any other actor who had come before.

I'd love to see his rendition in DRS... darn being in Florida for the next 6 months...
