I can't wait!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

MY question is why they interviewed Marissa. She's untalented. Not really. I'm just bitter that she won over Bernadette.

I'm sure there are more to come, there were 500,000 people on the Golden Age, so I'm sure there'll be much more for this one, especially since no one is old enough to die, really.

Idina Menzel? Nahh.

Wouldn't mind Chenoweth and Egan and Foster and Foster.

But the REAL question is: WHERE IS JOEY FATONE? re: Rick McKay's Broadway: The Next Generation

Oh yes, let's just have everybody in the cast of WICKED be in the film. It's the only way to make the Wicked-heads happy.

A better question is "Where's Bernie?" She should definitely be there.

Sounds like a work in progress. And I doubt McKay would deliberately overlook people like Lane and Peters. They're only the top musical theater actors of our time. :) So if they don't show up in the end, it will be because they couldn't or wouldn't be interviewed or because of space constraints.

On the other hand- ClumsyDude, some of the people you name don't have a whole lot of lead credits to their name. I wouldn't call Brooklyn alone enough of a basis to have space in a documentary that has a limited running time. You'd really rather have understudies and replacements in the film than actual, oh I don't know...leads? Updated On: 2/22/05 at 07:17 PM

In addition, it's THE NEXT GENERATION. Not GOLDEN AGE II.

There IS going to be a GOLDEN AGE II. After NEXT GENERATION.

They're actually missing quite a few people that should be on the list. The Fosters (Sutton and Hunter), Nathan Lane, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenowith, Heather Headley, Lillias White, Susan Egan, Alan Cumming, Mandy Patinkin, Lea Solanga, Jennifer Holliday, Bernadette Peters, Adam Pascal and MANY others.

Mr. McKay would also have to use a certain amount of clairvoyance in choosing who to interview this time around. The people in GOLDEN AGE had proven track records, but who will be the stayers from this lot? How many of them will stick with the theater and how many will turn out to be one hit wonders?
