Did anybody see this? I just picked up a copy of the recording at my local library and listened to it last night. I really enjoyed the music, and I am a fan of Kelly (Kelli?) O'Hara. Anybody know anything about the production or more about the story? I'm interested.

I know I'm in the miniscule minority, but I really thought it was a masterpiece and wish it had a longer life.

I've never made it through the entire CD.

It's a lovely score, and the CD is a very nice listen

The show itself was problematic, largely due to Richard Nelson's direction, but was still very emotionally effective. I went back for several revisits, and enjoyed them all.

A really lovely show. I saw the 1st preview and loved it from the start. The music, cast and production values were all so good. However, much to special to run very long.

I enjoyed it (especially Donna Lynne Champlins "Lullaby" ) but I never thought it would appeal to a broader audience.

One of my fav CD's- I hadda get it frm Spotlight cos very few other places even knew about it. I found it charming -Kelli & Brent were great the setting very nicely done. And I also enjoyed Emily Skinner, tho I remeber some one saying "her breast scared him" LOL. I think it really was to delicate a piece for comemrcial theatre. that's why it was perfect for Playwrites.

I agree with the folks here you say it was a wonderful, very underrated musical. It was based, if I remember correctly, on episodes that had to do with the character of Albertine (no surprise!) from Marcel Proust's epic work "Remembrance of Things Past." I remember that the person that I went with and I were amazed that this musical was, among other things, a rather scathing indictment of male ego and vanity that didn't go soft at the end.

I NEED to get this recording -A friend of mine had me listen to it a year or two ago and while I don't like all of it there are definitely some great moments.

And yeah, Kelli was brilliant. I didn't know who she was then, but I remember turning to my friend and going, "THAT GIRL NEEDS TO BE A STAR."

I agree with notabb, Donna Lynn Champlin's "Lullaby" is a real highlight on the recording. Looking forward to seeing her in SWEENEY TODD!

Both Donna Lynne and Emily were completely underused in this show. Not to mention it was just dull. The concept itself is intriguing, but that's where it ends. Long, drawn out and quite the snoozer.

I had a feeling with Kelli's newfound fame this show would once again pique curiosities. If you're just buying it solely for her voice, than it's worth it (as it's GORGEOUS on the recording). Otherwise, don't waste your money.

By the way, Emily's breasts couldn't exactly contain themselves. I was afraid they were going to devour the entire first three rows at one point. I can see how one could potentially be scarred.

Yup. When she made her entrance at the top of Act Two, her breasts were above her head.
