Viertel's book was excellent. I read it at the beach two months ago and flew through it. I'm going to have to pick up the O'Neill one once it's out.

Viertel's book is essential, though he's pretty behind on that.

LOVED Viertel's book. I especially loved his frequent references to Guys and Dolls - I read the book a few weeks before seeing the revival on the West End, and it really deepened my appreciation of the show.
