Am I the only one around here who was extremely excited when I saw her name in the Playbill for this show?! The Fantasticks has always been "my" show and has such sentimental value for me, and when I realized I was watching the original Luisa onstage...so exciting!!!
Every so often, her voice sounded the same too!
I can't find much information on her one-woman show that her bio says she is currently doing...anyone know anything about it? I'm sure she's not doing it now that she has a show every night...
Very awesome that she's still working!

Can't help ya there, but I thought she was so great in Wedding Singer. So funny.

Rita's show not only charts her career but the history of Off-Broadway as well, since she she lived and worked through its heyday. It's a wonderful act, with material known (FANTASTICKS, A CHORUS LINE, JACQUES BREL) and obscure (rare Jones and Schmidt, JOHN MURRAY'S ALMANAC), expertly arranged by Alex Rybeck. Props to Rita!

So she only has a song in the 2nd Act now with Cahoon? In Seattle she had an awful song that didn't showcase her talent at all, and was quite amateur.
I adore Rita Gardner. Check out the OBC of A Family Affair. She sounds quite lovely on it.
