To those who wondered about what he's been up to:

The last thing I saw him in was the off-Broadway play "Temporary Help." He was so amazing in it.

I was Rober Cuccioli's English teacher at St. Mary's High School. He was on the cross country team and I recruited him to play Sky Masterson in our production of GUYS AND DOLLS. The rest, as they say, is history.
Well now, that's way less than 6 degrees of seperation.
Robert Cuccioli is absolutely AMAZING, he was great as "Jekyll And Hyde"!!!

I should be a columnist here because I know the difference between "awesome" and "amazing"???? My dear Lady, I don't follow your line of reasoning!

it's too bad that they didn't bring Rob back to film the JandH video insted of gawdawful what's-his-name (I can't say it)

I agree there. They should have used the original cast. Not only won't I bring myself to say his name either, but I can barely watch most of that video. I recall reading somewhere that they spliced in audiences from a night that Rob Evan was on?

If you look at some of the shots what gawdawaful is singing 'This Is The Moment', you can see that no one is in the audience. Truthfully, Coleen Sexton is just as good as Eder in my opinion and am happy that she is on the video.

I totally agree that the J&H video should have been made with the original cast. Although I thought the show has its problems, I did think the original cast was wonderful.
Hasselhoff was just laughable in the part. To me, Colleen Sexton lacked Eder's vulnerablity and her singing voice lacks both the power and beauty of Eders. The role of Emma was vastly underwritten but I do think Christiane Noll was able to develop more of a character than Andrea Rivette.....I can still recall the transportive, goosebump-producing effect of Eder and Noll singing "In His Eyes."

The thing is that Sexton is very different in her portraryal than Eder was. I don't think she was better or worse. Just different.
I can't believe you said his name! That is horrible!

I've seen every lead cast change in J&H. (not necessarily by choice) including all the last performances. There was a full house for both Evan's and Hasselhoff's BTN taping. The taping took place on both their performances, things were spliced, but only different angle and distance shots in certain spots. Hard to describe.
I agree, it would have been wonderful to have the video with the OBC, but impossible as they were not all available...nor would that be fair to the exisisting leads. Plus DH paid for the taping, so who do you think would be the star?
IMHO, Coleen is gorgous but couldn't hold a candle vocally to Eder. Neither held the actress award for that role. That went to Luba Mason as Lucy , in my eyes!
I also thought Rob Evan was equally as good as Cooch and vocally better! just my opinion, folks!

Rod Evan was the Jykell/Hyde alternate. He perfromed matinee perfromances.
I don't know how we went from Robert Cuccioli to Rob Evan lol but I loved Rob Evan in "The Prince and the Pauper." I also got to see him in "Jekyl and Hyde" and he was great in that as well.

Rob Evan started out as the "standby" for Cuccioli pre-Bd'w, then Alternate( Wed. Sat. mat) when J&H opened on Bd'w,(spring '97) then took over the lead for a few years. He left when the "Jekyll-Go-Round" began it's stunt casting, then was called back as Alternate (I think) ok...he's was with the original production a total of about 5 Yrs. Show closed Jan.7,2001 with a great party!
Shamless plug for an old pal.

When I last spoke to Robert he had signed to play Vittorio Vidale in the Marissa Tomei SWEET CHARITY. Now his involvement in the project is in limbo.

yeah, that's the last I heard too. Too bad. I bet he would have been good in it. Almost worth sitting through Marisa Tomei singing "Big Spender"
I'm actually pretty happy with the cast in the video. Hasselhoff cant hold a cnadle to Cuccioli, but I love Coleen's take on Lucy, and I think its great that she's on video. I fell in love with her when I saw her perform "Good and Evil" for the first time.

Jack Wagner, the soap star was the worst Jekyll of all! Despite the HUGE box offive draw he brought in, ( as high as Cuccioli), he was pathetic and a pompus ass. ( Miss Sexton wouldn't agree I can safely say) Sebastian Bach was surprisingly good, once he learned how to act. The cast as well as the crowd loved him. One of the best under rated actors that played Jekyll was Joseph Mahowald. Tremendeous voice and super acting.
She is truly a beauty and very popular in J&H. But I have to say there were nights that I thought she'd blow out her voice completely...very inconsistant.
OK I'd better zip it before I stick my foot in my mouth anymore.
