Considering that he seems semi-disoriented reporting for duty to the same theater each night in New York, isn't the idea of Robert Goulet criss-crossing the country in a tour of "La Cage" bordering on the absurd? I sat through Mr. Goulet's touring production of "Camelot" years ago and it was abysmal.
I wonder if he'd still be a big draw around the country. It's possible, but he doesn't enjoy great word-of-mouth. More important, however, how would he be able to muster the stamina to tour? In spite of its win last night, I honestly can't imagine this show will have either a cast recording or a tour, let a lone one starring Goulet.
