He manages to be very gracious and hilarious at the same time. It's so evident what a nice man he is, and he's one of the only comedian I can think of who can fully immerse himself into either a comedic or dramatic role and you forget the celebrity persona.

"It's not always about you!!!" (But if you think I'm referring to you anyway, then I probably am.)

Robin Williams is just a genius. Watching him on the red carpet and his speech was a hoot. He is just HILARIOUS!! But aside from that, he is also an incredible dramatic actor. He can play both sides of the spectrum perfectly. LOVE HIM!

"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife

No. He can't be Tevye. That is Harvey's role for now.
And if Hairspray was playing in LA, I think he would make a brilliant Edna.
His Mrs Doubtfire was perfect. All he has to do is change the English accent to a Brooklyn accent. Simple for him.
I love him.

We were out during the GGs and were at the diner for Robin's speech, and the TVs had it closed captioned. VERY ODD to see his "accents" just being written out. Funny in a very different way, lol.

Oh, and I LOVE him :) Went home and watched his HBO special right afterwards...that never gets old. Updated On: 1/17/05 at 11:34 AM

The man made me cry a bit at the end with his comments on Cristopher Reeve. Very beautiful.
Does anyone remember an episode of Homicide:Life on the Streets where Robin guest starred as a NY tourist with his family. His wife was shot in broad daylight right in front of him and his kids. It is the first time I was ever truly moved by a tv drama. It was also the first time I ever saw him not make a single joke in one of his performances and I was blown away by his abilities as an actor.

P.S. Thought Jamie Foxx getting all choked up at the end was very touching as well. Who would ever have guessed that In Living Color would give us two of our up and coming great leading actors?

About a dozen years or so ago, didn't Robin Williams star with Steve Martin in a Lincoln Center Benefit production of WAITING FOR GODOT?

He really is something. I just watched the Golden Globes last night where his career and life was honored and they had this huge montage of scenes from his work over the years and then he made a speech. He really does have ALOT of talent andd he really deserved that award. When they asked him to come onstage everyone in the theatre stood up and gave him a standing ovation. Really nice.

I think his mind is way too creative to be stuck working in a play where he has to reproduce his work everyday. I think he needs to be in an environment where he can adlib and do whatever he wants whenever he wants to.

true, but i am pretty sure if he signed for a show, he would be given the liscence to stray from the script on random tangents whenever her wanted(within reason). it would be part of the charm, and would probably be a blast for the cast. It would be a new show every night!!!!! Updated On: 1/17/05 at 02:33 PM
