I finally made my way over to New World Stages to catch Rock and Roll Man. I must admit, I was in the minority here in a sea of senior citizens. For them, Nostalgia, for me a younger person I was a little worried that it's target audience was Nana and them. But, I loved the show, The singing was outstanding and the cast is extremely taIented. I learned alot about a man ( Alan Freed) often left out of the history of Rock And Roll who was the fulcrum of change. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The cast is Dynamic with standout performances by Rodrick Covington as Little Richard. The Choreography was fun and fresh. Sound design was great. I wish the Hair and Makeup team had spent some more time on finessing the wigs and making sure the wardrobe of the quartet differed so that the audience can follow the different vocal groups the black male ensemble played. Matthew Morgan was great as Chuck Berry but he didn't have a song as Wailin Joe which I thought was weird. Overall it was a fun night at the theatre. I saw the show in previews but will return to see it again once it has opened. I know most shows have their eye set on bigger prizes such as Broadway. However, I think if these producers are smart they would run it as is at NWS.
Did anyone else catch this show yet?

Thanks for the review, I have tickets for mid-July so I'm looking forward to it! (I hadn't heard about Alan Freed before so I wasn't sure how big of a name he really was)
