Please tell all ab out it? Ho was the show? How was Micky's performace? Who else performed? Please share away!
Hello All,
Here's my review of last nights "Rockers on Broadway".
First I want to start off by saying I have been attending this event for the last 5 years and I will tell you that even though I enjoyed myself in previous years, this years event topped them all. Also, please forgive me if I can't remember every single name of the actor/performer who was at this event. My purpose is to give you a summary of the event so please be kind and don't jump on me if I mispell a word here and there. I am sure pictures will be posted later today on BWW since the press was there taking pictures and doing interviews so you can read all about it later on as well.
The Legendary Songwriting Team of Holland-Dozier-Holland and Cousin Brucie Morrow were in there also. One of the members of Holland Dozier Holland could not be there because he could not fly to N.Y. because of a procedure he had done, but the other two guys were in attendance to accept an award with Berry Gordy on stage with Rupert Holmes.
Line-up of songs performed:
Temptations Medley: Can't get next to You, The way you do the things you do, My Girl, Just my Imagination, Papa Was a Rolling Stone, Ain't To Proud to Beg, Get Ready (These songs were performed by 4 super talened guys) one of which was Kris Coleman of Jersey Boys.
Donnie Kehr sang "For once in my Life"
Mickey Dolenz sang "Try a Little Tenderness"
Michael Lanning sang "When a Man Loves a Woman"
Then came "The Jackson 5 Medley" performed by: Michael Longoria, Travis Cloer, Domenick Nolfi, and Tommar Wilson.
Songs performed by these guys: The Love You Save, I'll Be there, Got to Be There, ABC, I Want You Back.
Act 2: Supremes Medley: Baby Love, Stop In The Name of Love, Come See About Me, You Can't Hurry Love, Reflections, You just keep me Hangin'On. This was performed by:Renee Elise Goldberry, Anika Ellis, Michelle Kinney. These ladies were terrific! they had the moves and the outfits were great. They really looked like the Supremes.
Bobby Spencer performed "Mercy Mercy Me"
Jeremy Schonfeld performed "Easy"
Then 4 actors, I can't remember thier names but I do remember them doing a great Rap song that "Boyz To Men" sang which is titled "End of The Road" This performance stoled the show, these 4 rappers were great they were dressed like rappers and they were very funny and they harmonized well!
Daphne Rubin-Vega came on stage looking very Hot! She looked amazing dressed in a tight black leather dress with black boots and she sang "Midnight Train To Georgia" Daphne was superb!
Christian Hoff sang "Satisfaction" he was excellent!
La La Brooks looked fabulous at 60. This women rocked the house. She had everyone dancing. La La peformed from "Hair" Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine. The Crowd loved her!
Then LaLa was joined by Deborah Gibson & Darlene Love on stage to perform Martha Reves & the Vandellas medley of songs which included "No Where To Run", "Heatwave", "Dancin' in the Streets".
Four Tops Medley: performed by 4 guys who again I don't remember the names (by this time I had my 4th Cosmopolitan so you have to forgive me) They performed "Reach Out-I'll Be There",Baby I need your Lovin', "Standing in the Shadows Of Love", "Sugar Pie Hunny Bunch"
Christine Ebersole did the final song of the night which was
"Ain't No Mountain High Enough" She was dressed in a long black dress with a red boa and Christine looked beautiful. She also brought the house down, everyone loved her.
I am sure a full review will be posted on this site with pictures for all of you to see.
Thats it for now, talk to you later.

hmmm! I never heard Micky sing try a little tenderness. Thanks for the info. The press was there? Strange and there is not interviews or pictures up at all. Usually all that stuff is up the very next day after. I wonder what is going on ? why things are so slow? It's very unusual. If it wernt for micky's radio show I dont think a lot of p eople would have know about it. C ourse the organization has web page. They need tp get hopping!
I too thought that by this time today the pictures would be up and the review. Cousin Brucie Morrow was there also at the event and he held his radio show live for Satelite Radio last night. He kept holding up the "Applause" sign and asked if we were all having a good time to scream out loud for everyone around town to hear us.
Cousin Brucie was great and took pictures with the fans later on in the evening.
Mickey actually sounded very good. I am sure the photo's will be here tomorrow. There were about 5 photographers and I did see the news NY1 there interviewing Daphne and other performers.

Its very scary whats going on with the fires. I saw it one the news tonight and everyone was leaving their homes to stay safe.
Its heartbreaking.
Mickey was with Donna last night I do hope their home will be o.k. but most important is that they are O.K. the house can be replaced their lives can't.

well thats good donna was with him. perhaps there staying in new york awhile micky has an apartment out there sence he was aida and the radio show. another person who atended the show said he went back to la. but Micky wouldnt make a grand anoucement unless one of his meet and greets was cut short and they just say he has to catch a plain is all. I havent talk to the man in year and half so news like this gets my haunches up. i'll be happy when he does an interview again or goes to a premier and new pictures show up of micky and donna on wireimages or gettyimages.
