I can only describe him as delightful. He brings so much energy and excitement which is something that's been missing from this show for months. And for once the cast didn't look extremely bored onstage during "Under The Sea". He also adds his own little movements (he does a half split thing and has some really interesting footwork) and also plays a lot with the fact that he's a crab... something that no other Sebastian seems to have had fun with yet.
The only thing I'm not terribly fond of is the way he chooses to sing the end of "Under The Sea". He goes almost into a head voice type thing to get the higher notes. It's not bad I just don't prefer it is all. And for that to be the only thing I could even find to complain about for his FIRST performance, I'd say he's doing pretty damn good.
He seemed extremely happy and grateful at curtain call to be playing this part and was tearing up. It was really cute and I hope he continues to bring this energy every night.
