I have enjoyed the vast majority of the roles I have played, luckily, my favourites being Joe Gillis u/s, London many many years ago and Marius (London). In fact, I wouldn't let myself get bogged down by a part - once I did, that would be the time to quit that role.
I played Anita..in WSS and for me there were days I loved it and days it made me want to kill someone....all that self-tanner....sheesh
I've never hated a role that I've played. I've been disapointed with some of the roles I've gotten, but once I make it my own and the character starts developing I start to love it. You can't make something believalbe if you can't find something you like in the character. That's how I look at it. It's hard to hate a role when you put so much into it.
Well, I wouldn't say I hated it, but my least favorite part was Judy in A Chorus Line. I mean the "Little brat, that's what my sister was..." thing is cute the first couple of times you sing it, but then it just get's annoying.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu
THe Wizard in The Wizard of Oz.
I was so excited to do this version, it was a new musicalized version and I had a solo and it was fun in rehearsals. But after the opening performance when I went back to my dressing room, I realized this just isn't fun or at least fulfilling.
Maybe it was because it was an outdoor production geared toward 3 year olds . . . . .damn that museum!
judge Omar Gaffney in "Harvey" boring, boring, boring.
not to mention the age difference was about 40 years.
