Roultette? You're joking. Branley's lost it-assuming he ever had it.

Did he watch this dreary, humorless, endless piece of s--- in a bubble? Did he hear anything even resembling a laugh out of the audience? Did he see the embarassment on the faces of the generally fine actors at the curtain call, which the lack of applause couldn't even sustain? Who is this dreary effeminate little troll to send honest theatre goers to this evening of pure torture?
Geeze, Frank Rich and Alex are looking real good to me right now.
Avoid it, my angels,
Gladys

Wow, Gladys, I just read Brantley's review and thought to myself, "I would love to see this." Did you like anything about it?

PEACE.

Yes, several of the actors are consumate pros: Larry Bryggman, Shawn Hatosy and Leslie Lyles. All the more painful to watch such fine artists put in this embarassing position. The audience just hated the show last Saturday afternoon, most of it was papered and people left at intermission in droves. By the way, Anna Pacquin can't act and Ana Gasteyner wouldn't know a moment of truth if it hit her like the E train at rush hour. Read the other reviews. Brantley is on something.
Kisses,
Gladys

Did I like it:

Two words!

Shawn Hatosy

Shawn Hatosy

Say it three times and he appears!

His "push up" scene is one I shall never forget..

Other than that..nothing really special...good work from the actors for the most part...but sorta drab at best!

Can you tell us about this push up scene? If Brantley's review doesn't get it transferred, some of us might never get to see it.

I used to hate Frank Rich, but looking through his book of reviews shows a guy who is genuinely passionate about new, different theater of all kinds. Ben Brantley is an idiot who just wants fluff and nonsense. Bring back Rich, Brantley is a bigger embarassment to the Times than Jason Blair.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

SO-O-O-O very true, BorstalBoy! Brantley has no discernible personality except the oh-so-predictable and frankly embarassing adulation of musical theatre divas. But I don't think Frank Rich lags far behind in the idiocy department, either.

What I liked about Frank Rich was he didn't play favorites and treated everyone pretty equally. He certainly earned his "butcher of broadway" title, but he was just as apt to flame Sondheim as he was to flame Webber.

Brantley seems full of agendas to me. I swear to God he writes reviews for his favorites..especially his divas..before even seeing the show. I even knew how he would begin his review of Wicked. You can bet that if Audra McDonald is on broadway again, his review would be very similar.

Theres no arguing that Kristin and Audra are good performers, he just seems way too obsessed. From reading Kristin's Wicked review, you'd think she was giving some kind of legendary performance and it was far from it.

I thought this show sounding very interesting. I wish it was running for longer than it is. I don't have anytime time because I have rehearsals for my show and my show ends the 13th, which leaves only two days to see it and that most likely won't be happening.
