I just noticed this the other day and its been driving me crazy. How come no theatres have a Row I?

They don't have Row O either. Because they look like ones and zeros. Too confusing to everyone.

They have Row O in theatres.

It's not so much that the I's look like 1's, as much as way back when, I's and J's were written very similarly.

I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

Well I guess it depends upon the theatre. The two theatres where I was box office manager didn't have either letter... and they were in two different states.

I don't know if it still does, but the Minskoff had a Row I during the runs of SUNSET BLVD. and PIMPERNEL. I always assumed many theatres did not because it could easily be mistaken for either a 1, a J or an L.

Though I think many theatres do have a Row O these days.
