Does anyone know when the rush tickets go on sale? Also, when does the box office open at the Broadhurst? I can't find this information anywhere...

Box Office Hours
Monday - Saturday: 10am - 8pm
Sunday: Noon - 6pm

They have the box office/rush info on telecharge. More rush info can be found on talkinbroadway.com. I would assume the tickets go onsale when the box office opens.

Rush tickets go on sale when the box office opens. Rush is only available if its not sold out. If it is, they also have standing room

so. much. drama.

i have heard some people say that they got decent rush seats. however, my seats were awful. i missed about 90% of the show. run away from D16 and D18 (and basically anything in that general area). I would have preferred standing room very much. i just suggest that before you purchase them, find out where they are located.

I was told at the box office that a lot of student rush seats are the partial view seats. He also said that the left side of the theatre partial views were GREAT seats, but that the right side (house right) - were terrible. Perhaps the piano is in the way? Not sure.

I went on Tuesday night and the woman at the box office told me that I need to come in the morning to get tickets, they sell quickly.

I went about a month ago on a Tuesday, and they only had 10 seats, I think. My friend and I got TERRIBLE seats on the right side (row E, I think, the last two seats in the row). I'd say about 1/2 of the stage was blocked out by the piano. The guys right in front of us got front row on the right side, right in front of the piano. Those would have been obstructed by the desk that Rudge sits at, but I don't think it would have been nearly as bad. It seems like a gamble as far as what you'd get with rush. Definitely see what you're getting first. I think most will be obstructed, but some (the far right side) are definitely worse than others.

ETA: If you don't mind missing Richard Griffiths, I'd venture to guess that you might have a slightly better shot with seats the week he's out (starting 7/18, I think).

I'm bumping this thread as I've become interested in this show. While on the rush line for Jersey Boys, the guy in front of me suggested The History Boys. Since then I've done some research and found it to be quite interesting. I'd love to see it before it ends its run on Broadway. Has anyone rushed the show lately? I'm trying for a Saturday matinee in the incoming weeks. Do I have to line up hours before the box office opens or can I just go up to the box office when it opens and get tickets?

Any help would be greatly appreciated =]

Smashing, I don't know if this is always the case on the weekend, but when I did SRO on a Sunday in July, I heard the guy at the box office sell the people in front of me Partial View seats for $26.25. They're in the frong orchestra on the far side, and I think that's typically where the rush seats are. I know someone mentioned going a week or two ago and getting front row, center, but I have a feeling that might be a rarity (or perhaps they've changed it yet again, so that those are the first seats they give rush, then everything else after that is the obstructed seats??).

Anyway, my point is, "student rush" is only Tuesday-Thursay, but you may still be able to get what are generally the rush seats (just without the label) on the weekend. Frankly, if you think you can handle standing, I'd just go for SRO if I were you. Maybe you'll get lucky and be able to snag a seat for ActII, but either way you'll have a much better view than the student/obstructed seats.

I went awhile ago and I stood. We could see everything and they did have hanging tvs in the back so you could see the whole stage. But those "seats" were very good. Though if you are short I wouldnt reccommend them, because you have to stand at the back of the orch. and the wall is kind of tall.

Thanks so much mabel and TabooWickedFan. Standing room, obstructed view, either way is fine. I was considering SR because I could see everything on stage and the view would be much better. I wear glasses anyway, so it's alright haha.

Is there a specific time I should go to the theatre?

Yeah, the wall is very high. I'm 5'3" and I'd say that's probably about the cut off for SRO being doable (I'd say the wall came up to my nose).

I'd say if you think you can stand, that'd be the route I'd recommend. I think you can buy SRO in advance (at least you used to be able to), but even if you don't get there ahead of time, you should be fine getting there when the box office opens (or 1/2 before). The obstructed seats (especially those house right, blocked by the piano, are VERY obstructed). It's a long show to stand for, but I'd rather "suffer" a bit and be able to see everything, than have a seat and miss huge chuncks of the action.

I got rush tickets on August 2nd and was in seat A2 (my mom was in A4). Rudge's desk sometimes screwed with my view, but I could see 95% of the show and would absolutely love to see it from that position again. You can see backstage from there and it's so interesting to see the boys play around in the wings and behind the walls onstage.

I'm 5'3" myself mabel. I think I'd be able to pull it off. I'd rather do standing room than not see the show at all. I'm hoping that Samuel and Dominic are in if I go see the show! I'll ask first if they have any obstructed view seats, if not I'll do SRO. I really don't mind, I heard it's a great show so I'm willing to "suffer" with the standing. If I'm lucky and they sell rush tickets, maybe I'll end up with your seat sarbear2. I like your avatar =]

Thanks so much for your help everyone!

Sarbear2, I was in A1 the first time I saw the show, and other than the opposite side's desk obstructing some views a tiny bit, it was really a wonderful seat. Needless to say, my other rush seat I had that was something like E17 was a huge disappointment. The piano blocked more than half of the stage (not to mention that I really couldn't hear Sam Barnett's singing, because the piano served as a sort of sound wall and he was drowned out, which was a real pisser). I had to go back with SRO after being so pissed off about missing so much of the show (twist my arm!).
