I'll be in NY this weekend and plan on seeing several shows while I'm there, but wanted to know what rush was like for them these days and what time I should aim to get there. Can anyone let me know about:
How to Succeed
Catch Me If You Can
Anything Goes
Also, does anyone know what the availability has been like for rush tix for the Normal Heart?
As for BOM, I guess the strategy is to just show up as soon as possible for SRO?

Posted: 6/27/11 at 8:20pmI'm seeing NORMAL HEART tomorrow in the $26.50 rear mezz seats, and from what people have told me those are your best bet. The regular rush seems to have been spotty following their post-Tony bump in sales.

Catch me has been an easy rush my friend showed up 10 minutes before curtain and got seats, they are rear mezz though and keep in mind the Neil Simon isn't exactly small
Anything Goes I've heard they don't have many rush seats available
How to Succeed people line up really early for that one I'd say 6 or 7am
If you are going to be in on Thursday June 30th Normal heart has $30 tickets I have one in the front row rear mezz which is regularly a $96.50 seat so if you're in thursday the $30 seat could work
Normal Normal Heart rush(Wordy I know) has kinda been suspended since it's doing so well post tonys
Mormon SRO line= CRAZY early, My friend did it the day after the Tonys and got there at 8:30AM for the 7PM show she was 2nd in line and they don't sell tickets till an hour before the show (the first people got there at 7AM), It's a crazy line but worth it, I went earlier in the run and got their at 4:30PM and was fine that won't work now. Try the lotto but its always packed
My advice is if you REALLY wanna see mormon keep checking Telecharge and the box office sometimes stuff gets released, if not just line up really early for SRO and try lotto anyway.
Good luck!

Posted: 6/27/11 at 10:30pmIf you atleast 19, Hiptix is your best bet to see Anything Goes. I believe it is around $25, you just need to show ID when picking up tickets. I was mid mezz when I did it, there is no bad seat in the Sondheim Theater, in my opinion so you would be fine with whatever you get.

You have to be under 30 and you can only buy the tickets in person at the box office, but you can get them in advance. It is only for Thursday performances.

It is also only through June 30, which means you have exactly one more chance to take advantage of it.
If you have more questions about it: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-SearchBox&q=normal+heart+%2430+tickets&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq= It's like MAGIC!

I managed to get a rush seat for How to Succeed at 3 pm two weeks ago for the evening show. I have heard that people generally line up really early, though, so I probably just lucked out--I do know that they usually have quite a few rush tickets available, however, so don't get discouraged by a long line!
And as for Catch Me, also rushed that and got my ticket at about 4pm for a Friday night performance (there were quite a few left at that time too).
I bet NYC is going to be pretty busy for this weekend, though, given that Monday's the 4th.
