He was such a terrific performer, so likeable in everything he did! He also won a Tony for Call Me Madam, but lost the film role to Donald O'Connor. Does anyone know what he's doing now? Why wasn't he honored as a past Tony winner at the recent event?

I was the person who talked about GOILDILOCKS which featured Russell Nype in a supporting role. That was back in 1958 and he sounded great then. I haven't heard anything about him since. The CD of GOLDILOCKS is still available on Amazon.com. You should get it if you don't already have it--he has two or three beautiful ballads.
I loved GOLDILOCKS but it is not my favorite show--GYPSY is! In Ethel Merman's autobiography she speaks highly of Russell Nype.
Maybe he wasn't at the Tony ceremony because he was ill or has passed away. Sorry to bring up that possibility.
