Ok here's my October reviews
La Clique: A unexpectedly wonderful show! Got tickets for a student night for 10 pounds in the ground level, the whole thing was so fun. From the tennis hand to the bath boy... so sexy and fun and humourous! Definitely a good night out! I can't help but think what a great place it will be as a club with the 'La Clique' theme like they did for 'Masque of the Red Death'
Rain Man: Went to watch it obviously of the film and for the more obvious reason Josh Hartnett! And well... it was excellent. I don't think the set was but Josh really surprised me. He's not only good to look at but he has some great acting. But Adam Godley stole the show (when Josh didn't take his shirt off lol), what a performance! The other cast... well... was fine, but Mary Stockley... from Anything Goes to the play I saw her in in the Menier, just never understood the fuss about her, never really liked her.
Blowing Whistles: Opening night, went to watch it because of Paul Keating. A so-so play with a good cast. Paul Keating having all the good-lines and moments, stealing the show completely. Certainly did not expect the nudity. Just a reminder... don't sit on the sides by any means, cuz u will miss out the ending!
Eurobeat: Saw this twice, once during previews and once a few days ago for free. I just LOVE this show and makes me sad to see it close! Yes, it's a silly show but it is so much fun! Seeing it twice I still laugh out loud! The hosts... oh my god, they crack me up SOOO much! And the Russian and German teams ALWAYS crack me up as well and I'm just so hooked to the tune 'I love to love to love to love...' UK song :P
Woman In Black: 3rd viewing... still scary. The lady who played the ghost was wayy too happy though... her movements were so jolly, ruined the whole thing in the 1st act. Sound can be improved definitely! But otherwise, a stellar cast for a good show!
La Cage Aux Folles: Opening night, WOW! Just WOW! I only saw the DVD of the Broadway revival and I thought THAT was good but it just cannot compare to this production. The cast is SOO good, I think I'm in love with the very cute/petite Stuart Neal! yes no one will sing the Jean Michael songs better than Gavin Creel, but Stuart does an amazing job! I love the small changes and somewhat simplicity of the show. The whole thing really is a emotional roller coaster and the music ... urgh.. the music, kills me! They are so good! Douglas Hodge's Albin/Zaza is so funny and layered. Im most impressed with the choreography, the sexiness, the grittiness just WOW! Go watch the show now if you haven't! I hope this comes out in DVD or a cast recording!
Flaunt It! : What a great evening! The theatre doesnt really suit the event, it's so... Woman in Black, spooky! Everyone is so good. Great effort!
Can't wait for November!!! Avenue Q, Wicked, Hairspray, Ivanov, Oedipus, A Little Night Music, Joseph...etc !!!!
