All I know is that Bernedett(sp?) Peters made 50,000 a week for GYPSY!!

O sorry, the report I did was on directing but...it says a director for amateur productions could range b/w $2,300 and $2,500 per show (not performances) and a broadway directors salary ranges from $40,000-$60,000 a show, but they also get some a certain amount of profit from each performance as well. So I would think a chorus member would make less than that. A broadway star might make as much if not more.

Walk-ons and ensemble makes around 2000/wk. People such as probably Idina and Kristin would make around 30,000-50,000. Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Antonio, etc.. make (made) around 100,000.

No way are Menzel and Chenoweth up to $50,000 yet. The $40,000-$50,000 range is reserved for the Bernadette Peters and Hugh Jackmans of the world. And Chenoweth and Menzel, whatever you think of their talents (and I'm a tremendous fan of Chenoweth, at least), just aren't there yet.

Plum is absolutely right, kiddies. That 40,000 - 50,000 range is for a very elite few.

Just to add to that, I imagine that leading ladies like those of Wicked, who aren't legends like Peters or movie stars with stage cred like Jackman, would probably get paid $25,000-$35,000 instead. But if you want real accuracy look up Margo's posts on the subjects, because Margo Knows All. :)

Who cares what any of these people make? Strive to make it there and find out. When I was doing GYPSY, I made about 3,oo a week.

Is that 3,000 or 300?

I think those of you whp think the "Menzel's" of the world get anywhere close to that amount aren't very realistic. It's far less, closer to the 3 to 10 thousand dollar range and that's a bit of a stretch as well. Very few make the *star* salary numbers.

Rumors say Idina and Kristin were making $20,000 a week. Idina got bumped up to $25,000 when she won the Tony.
If I had to guess, I'd say Hunter Foster got around $10,000 in Little Shop, and is getting $15,000 for The Producers.

And remember some stars have percentage clauses in their contracts, which can add a significant amount to their weekly if the show is doing well.

Agree totally bogey, I wouldn't care if I made $1 a week as long as I'm on Broadway.
Yet again, that $1 a week won't get me far, so I obviously will have something to fall back on.

I think you took JUST THE correct amount of aspirin today! :) I really don't think that it should matter how much one makes...this is a craft that we love doing (or should). But then again...I am in it for the booze and women....and men....

HAHA, you're not the first to misinterpret my user name...it's aspiring guy if that confuzzled you. Someone even begged me to change it because they went crazy thinking it was aspirin.

Just a lil off topic...but how much do Stage Managers (per performance) and Company Managers make?

I love applause, it's most likely the most rewarding thing ever. Always always always makes me smile.
Jai-I'm not sure, but I assume more than a chorus member/ensemble/walk-on.
