I just finished my run as Major Holmes in SECRET GARDEN the other day and I've been listening to the cast recording alot over the past couple of weeks to nail some of the stuff from the show and each time I listened questions arouse in my mind:
1. Daisy Eagan- related to Susan and where is she now? What she done since SECRET GARDEN?
2. How long did SECRET GARDEN run? It seems as though it didnt run for more than a year at the most.
3. Major Holmes- His part on the CD is limited, but in our version it was expanded to parts in: There's A Man transtion and a memory scene of the opening with Mary's awaking. Why was Major Holmes and Albert's parts left off the original cast recording in THERE'S A MAN--- Transtion

I too just finished playing in "Secret Garden." I was Archibald.
1) I don't know if Daisy Egan is related to Susan. I don't know what she is up to today. I remember that she was in an Off-Broadway musical a few years ago.
2) It ran for around 700 performances, I do believe. At least it ran long enough for Howard McGillin to take over for Mandy Patinkin.
3) Regarding the differences between the "Secret Garden" that you and I performed and what is on the CD, the CD was recorded soon after the Broadway opening and preserves the show as it stood when it opened on Broadway. (It is the orginal Broadway version that was published when the libretto was commercially published.) When the first National Tour went out, the creators made some changes to the show and that version is what is currently available for stock and amateur productions. (That is the version of the script that you get from Samuel French.)
Simon, Norman and director Schulmann put the changes that they made for the touring versions into the Broadway production.
Simon and Norman also made major changes for the London production getting rid of all the dreamers (I guess that Lily doesn't count as a dreamer) and the India flashbacks.

Oh wow. Thats crazy. I'm glad they made those changes to our verison of the show. I was GLAD to be singing all my parts.
Archibald is such an amazing role, I wish I had played it, but sadly, I'm just Major Holmes.

I loved being Major Holmes. It was the biggest singing roll, I ever had and it truly changelled me to come out my shell of not being a soloist and always a chorus member to embraching my inner voice.
Did the two of you {bceagles & sondheimboy2} both preform the same verison as I did. And how were you're Major Holmes {just wanna know.}

Daisy and Susan are not related. Their last names are spelled differently.
And here, you can see how long TSG ran:
