SHREK Rush?

Has anyone stopped by The Broadway box office to see if SHREK is planning on implementing any sort of rush policy?

I stopped by there on Saturday and they said they they're not going to be any student rush or standing room but possibly a lottery. They said they won't know anything till closer to opening.

If they don't do rush there's always those $41.50 rear mezz seats for Tuesday-Thursdays and I think there's a discount for $45 seats for all performances which are the $81 full price seats that are a couple rows in front of the $41 one's

I hope there's a lottery. I'm interested to see this, but I'm not willing to pay full price for Shrek the Musical.

I think it would make sense. I honestly think they should do student rush. They should have a similar policy to Spring Awakening Hold 50 tix per show. I don't think this show's gonna sell out on full price tix, even with the discount of $80 for Orc seats!

Starting this Saturday, Shrek will be starting their lottery policy. Here's the facts:

-Sign up is from 9-10 AM at M&M WORLD, NOT at the box office
-Drawing is at 10 AM
-16 winners will be drawn
-Seat locations will vary, but generally be box seats and seats in the first two rows of the orchestra
-Tickets are $26.50

Is it cash only? Will it be for all performances?
Why is it from 9-10? Doesn't the box office open at 10AM Monday-Saturday's & 12PM on Sundays?

Will it be the same time for Matinee and Evening shows?
Will they just do 1 big lottery for both shows?

This policy is for Saturday's performance only, the normal lotto system has yet to be decided. I believe it's 16 winners who can buy up to two tickets for the $26.50 price.

They will still be doing a lottery after Saturday right? It's not like it's just only 1 lottery then the rest of the run is regular sales right?

Yes, there will be a lotto for the show's run, but the details of it have NOT been decided yet.

the press release is saying:
- 16 tix *total*, not 16 names drawn
- on two show days both drawings are at 10am, but you can only enter the drawing for one performance

Interesting. So do you buy the tickets there, or do you then go to the box office to actually purchase the tickets?

If it's the latter, what happens on Sundays? You win at 10 and then hang out for two hours until the box office opens?
