Gross. Go away.
Singin' in the Rain just doesn't work on stage. Although Kristin would be a riot as Lina.

I would prefer Noah Racey as Don--little less flamboyant onstage, if you know what I mean.
And no offense, Audra is a wonderfully talented actress and singer, but she is way too old to play Kathy. Debbie Reynolds was 19 years old when she played that part, and I think there are plenty of talented yound ladies out there who would be better suited for this part.

Posted: 4/6/05 at 9:27amI like the cast, but I'm not sure Audra would work as Cathy. That's just my opinion, but I can't really see it.

I would love to see Rachel York as Lina. She was snubbed for Vitor/Victoria. I have no doubt Kristin would make a good Lina as well. I saw a wonderful production of Singin' in the Rain that worked very well. It depends which script they use as there are several versions out there. At the risk of sounding like an obsessive fan (which I'm not), I can't help thinking Sutton would make an excellent Cathy. Perhaps because the character is somewhat similar to Millie.
Michael Berresse has to play Cozmo, though. He should be at the top of the list.

This is a bad show, not 'awful', but not any good. This was the Saturday Night Fever or Urban Cowboy of its day with the film recreated onstage with no imagination. Why spend $100 a pop when you can buy a dvd for $20 and see the exact same thing told better?
It may have run close to a year in NY, but it closed at a total loss, and the tours didn't begin to make the money back.
Let sleeping dogs lie.
