Having seen the show 3 times in London, it's a fantastic show (needs some adjusting to the plot/direction here & there but that's minor)... it's super mega fun as it is!
The score... simply amazing! I do not think it's Alan Menken's BEST score... but it sure is amazing (Alan Menken on a bad day is still as amazing as any other composer's done!) and this cast recording comes through as a very honest & true recording to the actual stage show, projecting this joy, fun and hyperness! Absolutely fun & beautiful!
On one slightly bad note... Patina doesn't do her even-crazier ending for 'Fabulous Baby' where onstage, she literally does a riff at the very, very end! In the CD, she just holds the one note and ends it without a riff and sounds abit like a blurb in the end too! haha... it's just a little complaint haha... it's still amazing anyhow ~
