There was a fantastic staging of it in DC in 2002 w/ Raul Esparza. It would have been nice if they brought it to Broadway. It was very different from the original w/ Peters but still an excellent production.

One of my all-time favorite scores -- IMO one of the Sondheim's best and, as such, one of greatest ever written. The show lost money first time around on Broadway, so I'm guessing it'll be a little while before we see it again in NY. Perhaps, if a first-rate director in London (or somewhere else) comes up with a highly acclaimed, visionary production of it, it'll move here and get a second chance.
I have to agree about the production at the Kennedy Center. It was beautiful and quite well directed. I had the honor of being in the tenth anniversary tour and it was the greatest performing experience of my life. The score is beautiful, the book is wonderful, and the sets and costumes (we used the original costumes) are/were brilliant. It was a time in my life that I will never forget. A revival would be wonderful.
It would be wonderful to see this one revived , even for a short run.

Oh, don't I wish. Sunday is one of my favorite Sondheim scores- and one of my favorite scores, period. Who knows, it might get revived. If they're bringing back Pacific Overtures, anything can happen. :)
Wouldn't Laura Benanti make a good Dot?

if she shows up. I hear she is aweful when it comes to being there for shows. She was not in INTO THE WOODS both times I saw it. And I had other friends who said she was out when they saw it too.
I was lucky. She was in every time I saw WOODS and NINE. She would be a fantastic Dot in the show, though. Or maybe Harvey could do it after La Cage!
