Last week I got the video of Sunday in the Park with George from my library and watched it. I absolutely loved it. I though it was very good and intersting and the performances were amazing. But my question is, did they make revisons in the show to film it? Because I remember some people saying that the second act dr gged on, while it seemed to me the second act was shorter. Does anyone know why?

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

The video is word-for-word the same as the original script.

My one complaint is that the colors of the sets and costumes seemed dull on the video. Everything looked more viabrant in person. I don't know if this was a matter of changing the lighting for video or just adjusting camera setings.

It's called the 1980's. Cameras just weren't as sophisticated then I think even though it was only 20 years. It was hard to get that vibrant color when you're filming a live theatreical event. And as the the second act complaint people have, I think it's bullcrap. I think the second act is generally the whole point of the piece.

I agree...the second act completes the emotional arc. Without it Act One is just about the painting. Act Two makes the show about the artist.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

The second act has some of the most beautiful music ever written so I, too, do not understand the complaints.

Glad you enjoyed it! It's one of my favorite shows! Can't wait for the London version!
