April 16, 2019 was opening night for Socrates at the Public.
The NY Times review is mostly positive/sort of mixed. Laura Collins-Hughes praises Michael Stuhlbarg, says the first act is too long but that the second act is more successful and that the drama gains speed. She says the production is "overcrowded" with "16 actors portraying 40-plus characters." She praises Scott Pask's "starkingly beautiful set."

Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter is not a fan. Praises Michael Stuhlbarg, and also Scott Pask's scenic design.
