SOUTH PACIFIC Book/Dialog/Script/Line Changes

I did a search but couldn't find one where this topic was discussed, but I noticed that quite a few lines of dialog were either added or altered in the current production at LCT from the script/book that I saw and used many moons ago in high school.

Does anyone know why/how these changes came about? I know the scene for MY GIRL BACK HOME was inserted into the stage production from the movie, but there were other line changes that I'm almost positive were not in the script my school used years ago.

Any insight would be appreciated, and if there's a link to a thread discussing this and I just missed it, thanks in advance as well.
