I got standing room on a day with a matinee & evening performance, after the box office had opened back in April. I'm assuming you could easily get SRO around now, unless it's in high demand because of the time of year. But SR is really good! Haha and you might see someone famous by the bar XD lol. Kidding. We just happened to see Mike Rowe standing over there... /threadjack.

but anyway, no rush.

I've done SRO for Spamalot both times I have seen it on broadway and its really good. If you are short though make sure to ask for the more central spots otherwise you might be straining to see over (as was the case with a friend of mine). The floor slops towards the outward SRO spaces. Good luck!

Also be nice to your ushers. They may well let you go and sit down partway through Act 1. But don't just go grab seats 30 seconds into the opening. My friend and I watched a group of three or four try to claim seats right in front of where we were standing only to have to move because the people whose seats they were actually WERE in the theatre, they'd just been checking their coats. When the usher let my friend and I move into seats down front, those three or four were blocked and told "No. You stay here." I think they had to stand the whole time because they were so impatient. :)
