OK so i did the spamalot sro over the summer and i got there at like 7, and there was already a long line, got tickets though. im thinking now that the odd couple is out and its colder, maybe we dont have to get there so early. im planning on going next wednesday for the evening performance. has anyone been recently? how early do you suggest we get there? answers GREATLY appreciated. :)
Hey there...I don't know how much help this will be, but I did SRO for Spamalot on a Friday in October. I got there around 7:30, and there was only one person in front of me. Nobody else really showed up until 9:30 or so. I don't know if that was just a flukey thing, or if it's slowed down significantly since the summer (though when I tried it in May on a Saturdy, I got there at 10 minutes to 10 and had my choice of the mat/eve show). I don't remember when Curry/Tudyk/Ramirez are/were leaving though, so I'm not sure if that would factor in at all too, if that's their last week? Or maybe they already left? I don't remember.
sweeeet thanks a lot. i think curry is leaving the 20th? wanna see him before he goes. he was out the night i went. anyone else have any idea how its been lately?
Alan Tudyk is already gone---Hank Azaria came back Dec. 2nd. Both Tim and Sara's last performance is December 18th. (Sat. night Sara broke up in the middle of one of her songs, and Tim missed a word in one of his songs---cute!!!)
aww poor sara thats so funny. so youre thinking maybe since im going the 14th, close to leaving time for the both of them, maybe there'll be a big crowd perhaps?
anyone? anyone? questions? comments? refutations?....sea stories?

Hi, I was only in NYC for a weekend the week before thanksgiving, and as I didn't have much time (having never been to the USA before and only having 3 days), just turned up at 5 to 10, just in case (I didn't hold out much hope). I think there were 4 people ahead of us in the queue, and we waited less than 10 minutes and got two stnding tickets. It was a Friday performance. Hope this helps. xx
wow thanks. yeah that helps a lot. well good, thats good to hear.
I was there this past Saturday and the line was filled up by about 9:15. It was Hank Azaria's second day back.
wow yeah cant wait to see him. i saw tudyk last time, who was also amazing. im thinking if we get there btwn 7:30 and 8 we should be ok. especially on a wednesday. thanks for everyones help!!
I did standing room only a month or two ago on a weekday night. And there were standing room only tickets available until an hour before curtain.
Good luck! It's a funny show!
hehe, thanks, i know, its a great show, saw it over the summer. cant wait to see tim and hank, though. tim's understudy was kind of annoying. but i guess ifyou have such a big star in a show you need to have an understudy who will imitate the original actor, which is basically what he did. no substitute for tim though. hope he'll take apicture with me!
Don't hold your breath---I've seen the show 4 times, and Tim didn't come out for any of them! On Saturday, the only ones that came out were Hank Azaria, Michael McGrath, David Hyde Pierce, and Steve Rosen---sweethearts the lot of them! that's not to say those that didn't come out weren't sweethearts---it WAS cold, and the only thing they owe us is 100% effort in their performance!
Of course, I took advantage of the BC/EFA fundraiser to get an autographed window card---autographed by the entire cast (including Alan Tudyk AND Hank Azaria!!!)
