Sorry, if this is a dumb question but I have never done Student Rush or Standing Room for any show and I will be going to New York and had a question..
for Jersey Boys
01) What time do you have to go in the morning to get Student Rush or Standing Room for a matinee?
and if their is anything else I should know about Student Rush or Standing Room.
Thanks!
For 2pm matinees, the tickets sell at 11. I'd recommend getting there at about 7 or 8 in the morning.
SRO sells at 12, so I'd get there about an hour after you'd get there for student rush.
So the tickets go on sale at 11 only, you have to stand in line from 8 till 11..??..
oops - wrong post

Yes, people do start lining up as much as 5 hours before the tickets go on sale

Saturday seems to be pretty crazy for rush, Wednesdays aren't so bad. I suggest going there early just to be safe.
Anyone who has done rush, what are the left side (stage right) seats like? Are you blocked at all by the bar that comes up on stage during scenes?
SA...on the left, at times you do get blocked by the bar, especially during the first few clubs scenes where it's still Frankie Casteluccio. But, other than that, they are fine.
The view for the left side is blocked during when Frankie is first brought up on stage (the drunk gangster has a table blocking the way). Also, when the table rises up in the first few club scenes, the view is blocked.
I have only sat on the left hand side, and from what I hear about the staircase blocking you on the right, I would prefer it that way. I am going to rush on Saturday morning for the matinee. Hopefully I will get a seat!

Well since you're the expert, a link would be nice.
*BUMP*
On a Saturday...are rush seats for the matinee and evening performance sold right away? Or are the evening tickets sold later in the day?

Evening tickets go on sale at 4:30 PM. You'd want to get there hours in advanced to get a spot on line.
I actually sat on the side with the staircase and I liked my seat very much! I sat in A2 and I had a great view of everything except times when the actors are on the platform I couldn't see them and I could only hear them haha If I wanted to sit there again, could I request it? (Let's say I'm first in line)
I don't see what the problem would be if you were first and requested the seat.

What is a good arrival time for rushing on a sunday matinee?

FYI- I had a friend who rushed today for Jersey Boys. He got there at 6:15am , wasn't the first person in line, and was one of the last people to get tickets. He said the line filled up about 15 mins after he got there.
Also, 3 or 4 people were in line for the evening rush seats at 1:15 when I walked by today on my way to the Hairspray matinee.
I just got the CD yesterday and am so mad. It skips in my car. It's fine playing everywhere else. And it's not my CD player because none of my other CDs skipped even when I went over a bump. And for some reason every time I went over a bump this skipped.

Why the heck do they go so early? I don't think being infront of a Broadway house at six in the morning is so smart.

I'm telling you... those Saturday shows! Wednesday isn't so bad. When I did rush I got to the theatre at around 7:30 am and was second in line. I guess it varies.
I didn't mind sitting in front of the theatre early in the morning. As long as I got a ticket I was fine haha However, one of the elderly spanish ladies working at the theatre came out and started talking to some guy and was looking at me and laughing. Probably talking about me, being crazy waiting outside for rush tickets lol
Before 7 AM it's pretty sketchy.
I'm happy I'm going to an 8pm show this week so that I won't have to get there at 7am.
Okay, this is probably a fairly stupid question...it applies to all shows not just JB, but the thought did come up in relation to JB and since this thread title refers to SRO...if you're on the line for SRO, can you get 2 tickets? Or if you get a SRO ticket, is it one per person where everyone must wait on line?
SRO is one ticket per one person. Everyone has to be on line.
