SWEENEY MUSICIAN CONTRACTS?

Since all the actors play their own instruments how did this work with the very strict musician's union? Are there some lucky pit players watching the playoffs while getting paid to NOT play?

PEACE.

Each actor had to join the musician's union. The producers also had to pay a fee to the union on top of it.

Yes, the each member of the cast is getting at LEAST the minimum salary from both Equity and the musician's union.
