Did anyone here attend the Wednesday 11/30 performance(s) of Sweet Charity? I walked by the Hirschfeld this morning and the board said that Dylis Croman was going on as Charity and I am just wondering if anyone saw her performance.

Also, I saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels this afternoon... and I loved it! Joanna Gleason and Sara Gettelfinger were out, but their understudies were fantastic! And they were collecting for BC/EFA after the show and I got a picture with Rachelle Rak, Sara's understudy! She was wonderfully talented and such a genuinely sweet person!

Christina must be sick or something, as she was out last night as well.

Although, if you walked by this morning, perhaps it was still up from last night, and they hadn't gotten around to changing it yet.

Well if she's in a Weisler show playing at the Hershfield and is at the end of her run, do you really expect her to show up?!?! I mean really now? Didn't Michael Ridel spot her lunching with Donna Murphy the other day?!?! :)

I saw Dylis perform at the Tuesday performance. I have nothing to compare her to (never saw Christina A's Charity) but her dancing was good (not the most challenging choreography), her voice was pretty good and she was very sweet with good energy.

I saw it tuesday night as well. I thought Dylis was a fair sub at best. Not much character work, OK singing voice, but a great dancer. I was a bit shocked that such a weak actor was covering for a role that is so central to the whole piece. If "Charity" doesn't bowl you over, it's an uphill battle. Thank God the spectacular Denis O'Hare was in fine form.

Ensemble and other characters were great too, so it wasn't a total wash. BUT...at $110 a ticket, I kinda expect something a bit more.

singing----I agree with you re: Denis O'Hare. The elevator scene was the best part of the show. Who was the dancer with the purple sequined hat?---she was amazing!

Joshua-

If you don't mind posting/PMing me with your picture of Rachelle, I'd be so grateful! She's my absolute favorite.
