Sad day for Broadway: Brooklyn, La Cage Aux Folles, On Golden Pond, The Producers (tour) Closing

There is a thread on the closing night performance of LA CAGE.

Anyone go to closing night of On Golden Pond, Producers Tour, or BKLYN?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Mel and Susan wanted to wait to possibly bring it back next year or 2007 - after the movie has been finished, released, etc. Both of them take a lot of personal interest in every version of the show (tours included), and when you combine this with the movie, the shows opening in Japan and Australia and the Broadway and London shows, it's just too much.

It's possible for the tour to be revived sometime late next year or later - I don't think we've seen the last of The Producers across America. re: Sad day for Broadway: Brooklyn, La Cage Aux Folles, On Golden Pond, The

I was at the BKLYN closing, it was wonderful, the cast was at the top of their game, it was so fabulous. And the party after was fun and sad, the performers were so nice, and it was great to meet the biggest fans!

I often find it sad when shows close. I am sorry I didn't get to see Mark Twain Tonight, I'm sure it was wonderful.
