STANDING ON CEREMONY: THE GAY MARRIAGE PLAYS is closing this weekend, and it's a damn shame. It's a funny, heartfelt evening of short plays about this hot-button topic, and where were the New York theatregoers to keep the lovely Minetta Lane Theatre filled for months? You only have one week left to catch this piece, which features an all-star cast, and in particular, Richard Thomas and Harriet Harris at their respective peaks.

I'm sad, too. I live in Columbus, Ohio, but make the trip to NYC yearly to see several shows. This is one I was hoping would eke out an existence until April of 2012, but I guess it's not meant to be. Off-Bway fare seems to last for such short periods of time.

I was hoping they'd market this like LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE with a rotating cast. Shame to see it couldn't live that long.

I really enjoyed it. Harris is top-knotch and Thomas is really extraordinary.

I think that was the original intent, but too few takers, it seems. A shame. It's a wonderful production, and I agree, I won't soon forget the performances of Harris and Thomas.

I loved loved the show and cast. They really needed to be at a venue in midtown to get the tourist trade. While I love the village, lots of older and out of town folks are willing to make the trip.
