I would kill to see this! I could give a crap about Stuthers, but Hunter as Jerry!? God!

What are you talking about? He perfected Seymour in Little Shop. Bot to mention Leo in The Producers and Bobby in Urinetown!

I might just be making my first trip ever to Maine just to see the wonderful Hunter Foster as Jerry Lukowski. I have no doubt he will be amazing!

Only it's in Maine! I already looked it up. 23 hours all together on 4 Greyhound buses, $78 each way.

Sally Struthers played Dollly Levi in Hello, Dolly! which opened the Bloomington Arts Center in Minnesota a few years ago. She could have used another week's rehearsal.

She also played Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. It was a lot better.
She's doing Love Letters there this year.

This company just did a pretty good Full Monty. I suspect Struthers will be just fine as Jeanette.

Sally's a nice person, but I can't say that I'm excited about her being in this production.....or any stage production for that matter. I feel bad for the other actors involved. I did a production of Grease with her last summer and she played Miss Lynch. The dance went on longer and longer every night because she would start talking over other people's lines since she was supposed to be drunk for the scene. I understand improvisation, but it got to the point where the people who had scripted parts couldn't say they're lines because she was being so loud. It was really unprofessional, and frankly, it surprised me a little.

For anyone interested, Ogunquit is 4-ish hours away from the NYC area...I've actually driven to it from Danbury, CT.

But there is unfortunately no easy way to get there by train or bus. It's all a roundabout trip, nothing very direct, for those of us who don't have cars.

I know you don't have a car, but can you drive, Foster? Would renting a car and driving be a cheaper option? 1/2 the price if you find someone to go with and you can split it. Get a car load and think of the money you'd save!

I think I'm going to try to go some weekend. Take the bus to Boston, visit my folks, and we'll all drive up. I've seen a few shows at Ogunquit. It really is lovely there.
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)
