Posted: 3/22/06 at 9:37pmI believe I saw Heather Laws as Sally opposite John Stamos. I enjoyed his Emcee as well. I went in thinking he wasn't going to be very good, but I was surprised. He handled the character well.

Heather Laws was the standby and I believe played the role for a few months between Jane Leeves leaving and Molly Ringwald beginning. I saw her and she was sensational; one of the best Sallys I've ever seen (and I've seen them all 
).
ETA: Laws is currently playing Amy in John Doyle's COMPANY.

He pulled it off surprisingly well, and what a sexy mfker...I'm all about keeping the integrity in theatre but if it means we lose a little integrity but get to see Uncle Jesse shirtless and groping a man, then count me in!

She's actually playing Amy, and she. is. wonderful.
Stamos is gorgeous. Part of being good as the Emcee was having a LOT of charm and sex appeal, which is what made him as good as he was. Not brilliant, but good.

I saw Laws play Sally, as well.

Posted: 3/23/06 at 2:47pmI agree. I was very pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed his Emcee and I was suprisingly disappointed with Neil Patrick Harris' Emcee. I thought he would be good but he didn't get any of the intensity of the character. It seemed like he was going for funny the entire time.

Em, you saw Stamos?
I agree, though. I thought he just oozed charisma. Maybe he wasn't as intense as the character "should" be, but I really enjoyed his performance nonetheless. Adam's performance actually reminded me a lot of John, although Adam has the very obvious vocal edge.

Nah. Just a couple of video clips, but several close friends of mine saw him more than once. I'm spitting back their opinions.
